Bio:
Born in the early years of what would become known as the Millennial generation, the second of three children, Stephen Damm attended school in a small town in central Nebraska (population 432). He graduated from high school in 2000 and joined the U.S. Navy. He was assigned to the USS Tucson, a Los Angeles class fast attack submarine based in Pearl Harbor, HI where he was an electrician/operator on the nuclear power plant. Upon his honorable discharge in 2006 he attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Here he began working with the National Park Service (NPS), first as a NCPE intern and then under STEP appointment, at the Midwest Archeological Center (MWAC). He continued his affiliation with MWAC as he attended graduate school at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, MI. Here he took up running with his newly-adopted dog, and went so far as to complete a half marathon. In 2013, he completed his MA and took accepted a position with the National Museum of Natural History (NMNH) Repatriation Office in Washington, DC. After a brief time at NMNH, he returned to the NPS in 2015, working in the Museum Management Program in the Washington Support Office. In June of 2021, he transitioned to the Office of Property Acquisition and Management, Interior Museum Program as a Program Analyst.
