Kathryn Petterson holds a B.A. in art history and Italian from the University of Rhode Island (2010) and an ALM in Anthropology and Archaeology from the Harvard University Extension School (2021). She also holds a graduate certificate in museum studies from the Harvard Extension School.
Kathryn is a community-oriented educator who enjoys creating opportunities for learning and connection. She has a wide variety of teaching experiences: from teaching English in an Italian high school to working for three years in museum education at Historic Newton and teaching at the Cambridge Center for Adult Education in Massachusetts. She has recently joined the Preservation Society of Newport County in Rhode Island as their Education and Programs Senior Coordinator.
In addition to focusing on education, Kathryn also has experience working in collections at Historic Newton and Harvard’s Museum of the Ancient Near East. Prior to stepping into the museum field she spent five years in higher education administration.
