As a variety of digital preservation systems have emerged to address the changing needs of cultural heritage organizations, Ithaka S+R has undertaken an IMLS funded research project to assess the effectiveness and durability of different approaches to cloud and local preservation. We compare community based systems and commercial systems, interviewing representatives of system providers as well as their users.
