Chad Weinard

Chad Weinard is a technologist and strategist for museums and cultural organizations. His work explores collections, cultural data, museum infrastructures and strategy, creative technology and the intersection of digital humanities and data science. Most recently, he directed WCMA Digital, a three-year digital infrastructure project that enhanced engagement through digital collections and data at the Williams College Museum of Art. He was Director of Digital Media at the Balboa Park Online Collaborative, where he led a team developing mobile, web, video and in-gallery experiences for a wide range of museums, including the San Diego Museum of Art, the Museum of Man, the Museum of Photographic Arts and others. Previously, Chad led digital engagement initiatives at the North Carolina Museum of Art, including social media, web, mobile, and in-gallery technology. His background is in fine arts, art history, design and web development; he studied the history of modern and contemporary art at the Institute of Fine Arts, NYU (MA, PhD ABD) and interaction design at ITP, NYU.
